I am a wife of 8 yrs to my best friend! I am a mom of 5, 4 girls and a boy, ages 6, 5, 3 (the boy), 2, and a newborn! I have conquered chronic back pain through taking charge of my health. I am a Stay at Home Mom, Licensed Massage Therapist, Pantry Consultant, and I am a Beachbody Coach 🙂
Why did I choose to change my lifestyle??
Among many reasons, I finally put my mind to it because I wanted to be a fit and healthy wife and mom. I have always WANTED to be healthy, I just didn’t know exactly what that ever meant. I thought I needed to get a degree in something health related just so I would know how to be fit and healthy (before I met my husband I was doing just that, getting a BS in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Health Promotion and Fitness).
I won’t say vanity wasn’t part of it at all…. My main reasons were to have energy to handle all that life threw at me… but when I thought I was going to throw up because the workout was SUPER intense, I would think about how I wanted people to look at all of my kids and then look at me and wonder to themselves if they all came out of my body!?
There is a certain stigma with stay at home moms, “you stay at home, so you should be able to take care of it all, I mean what else do you do all day?” People just don’t get it! It is either play with the kids OR clean the house. Why not both?! I wanted to make sure I was doing everything I COULD so that when I got to the end of the day I still had energy to PLAY with my kids, and had energy to get everything else done too!
I see so many moms just exhausted, unhealthy, sick and/or tired ALL the time, and I used to be that way too. Having the energy to laugh and dance and play with your kids, not only improves YOUR health, but it improves theirs as well. I also want to have enough energy at the end of the day to spend time with my husband as his WIFE, not just the mother of his children. I choose to be healthy so I know I have done everything in my power to fight cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and every other diet and lifestyle related illness. So if that day were to ever come, and I were to have contracted some terminal illness, I KNOW it is the Lord’s will, and it wasn’t anything I did.
For the better part of the past ten years I fought with CHRONIC back pain, bulging discs that were a millimeter from rupturing. Having 4 kids in 4.5 years takes a toll. I have been able to lose all unnecessary weight, strengthen my core and protect my back from further injury. Through the help of my coach and embracing a healthy lifestyle and staying consistent with fitness, I have succeeded at ridding myself of excruciating pain!
So you see, this is why I reach out to so many people to help coach them to a healthier life. I have found so much joy in embracing a healthier lifestyle. My family is so much closer, and so much happier because mama’s happy AND healthy!!
I don’t believe in quick fixes or fad diets. I believe in eating FOOD, and being active! I believe in self-discipline, and taking action to get and stay healthy. I believe only I am responsible for my success. This may not be an easy life to start living, it has many hurdles in the beginning, but in time, your body and mind are strengthened to the point that you can begin to cross them on your own.
It is my passion to help and coach people through this lifestyle change. It also helps keep me on track and keeps my desire to remain healthy strong! It is my passion to inspire and help others to do the same!
